Submission procedure

1.
Typefaces/fonts may be submitted by anyone involved in their design, production, or marketing1.
2. Entry/Hanging/Publication fees: none
3. Entries are to be submitted as 11x17 in. or A3 (297x420 mm) paper proofs. Each individual/constituent font-showing is to be submitted as a separate sheet2. Each proof should show the typeface in whatever way seems appropriate for that design; proofs may include, but are not limited to, headlines, short or long passages of text, sample pages/double-page spreads of book or magazine make-up, or multiple-column text.
4. The proofs should show complete character sets. In the case of complex, extended, or multi-script character sets, the showing is to be comprehensive enough to allow the jury to judge it properly.
5. The following information should be clearly visible in the upper left corner of each proof3:
Competition category:
text/display/text and display/pi;

Type of entry:
single typeface/family/system/superfamily;

Type of design:
original/revival/derivative;

Alphabet/writing system
Arabic, Armenian, Chinese, Cyrillic, Devanagari, Greek, Hebrew, Japanese, Korean, Latin, etc.).
Do not include the name of the typeface, the name of the designer, or the name of the manufacturer.
Notes
1. Additional credits will be requested for the designs selected by the Jury. All submissions are assumed to be the 1997-2001 productions/releases, and, by the fact of their entry in the competition, permission is granted to reproduce selected typefaces in the competition catalogue and in any related publications, and to display them in the exhibition of the winning entries.
2. Submissions of text/display type systems and superfamilies (including digital fonts produced in multiple-master or OpenType formats) may feature more than one font/style in each showing.
3. The name of the typeface, its designer(s), or its manufacturer must not appear either on the front or on the back of the proof. The entries must not contain any reference to the name of the typeface, its designer, or its manufacturer: this information should appear only on the entry form attached to the proof. This is intended to ensure equal and unbiased consideration for all entries.
