Location: Room 2
Presentation | Theme: Culture | Duration: 45 minutes
This talk focuses on the ideas, methodologies and visions of the Austrian philosopher, sociologist and social scientist Otto Neurath, who in collaboration with German graphic artist Gerd Arntz and other collaborators from his team at the Social and Economical Museum in Vienna invented and designed a specific form of visual communication in the 1930s, named ISOTYPE – International System of Typographic Education. Otto Neurath and his team could be a perfect model of a graphic design team of the 21st century: promoters of a true democratic vision of society through design and typography.
