The Westin Bayshore Resort & Marina is the official ATypI conference hotel and venue for the opening events of the conference. The reception and keynote address on the evening of Thursday 25 September will take place here, as will the plenary sessions on the morning of Friday 26 September. After the last plenary session ends at noon on Friday, private buses will take attendees down to the other conference venue, Emily Carr Institute of Art + Design (ECIAD) on Granville Island, where lunch will be provided before the afternoon speaker sessions commence at 1:30 pm.
The Westin is also the venue for the optional pre-conference OpenType technology workshops organised by Microsoft and Adobe (Wednesday and Thursday) and by FontLab (Thursday only). For more information about these workshops, see Other Events.
Each morning during the remaining days of the conference, buses will be available to take attendees from the Westin to ECIAD, and in the evening to return them to the hotel. The bus schedule will be available when you arrive in Vancouver, and will be printed in your conference programme.
