ATypI’s multilingual typographical dictionary

This dictionary of type and typography terms will cover the languages and terminology of all its contributors.

You can use the dictionary to find out the meaning of a word in your language, or you can find translations into other languages, because both the words and the definitions it contains are in several languages.

Searching

When you search for a word, you are presented with a list of all the items defined in the dictionary that are labelled with the word. We call these ‘objects’. The list includes any available translations of the word (when used to label the same item).

Where does the dictionary’s content come from?

The content of the dictionary is being added by contributors drawn from ATypI's worldwide membership.
