Eric Kindel
Eric Kindel is a designer, writer, editor, and Associate Professor in the Department of Typography & Graphic Communication, University of Reading. His programme of research into the history of stencilling has encompassed episodes of stencil work found across a wide expanse of time and context. His most recent study, of a description of stencilling written by Gilles Filleau des Billettes in the 1690s, was published in volume 9 of the book series Typography papers (Hyphen Press, 2013), alongside contributions by research collaborators James Mosley and Fred Smeijers.
