Paul van der Laan
Paul van der Laan is founding partner of Bold Monday type foundry, and works from a studio near the seaside in The Hague as designer of type and typography. Since 2003 Van der Laan has been staff member and teacher at the Type & Media masters course at the Royal Academy of Art (KABK) in The Hague. He travels regularly to give workshops and lectures at schools and international conferences. Van der Laan is the designer of acclaimed typefaces including Flex (Bold Monday), FF Kievit Pro (FontFont, in conjunction with Mike Abbink), Chalet Comprimé (House Industries), Feisar (Bold Monday) and has worked on custom type for worldwide clients including Audi AG, USA Today, NBCUniversal, Autodesk, Rijksmuseum Amsterdam and VPRO.
