Will Hill

Will Hill is Principal Lecturer in Graphic Design at Cambridge School of Art, Anglia Ruskin University, where he is Deputy Head of School and leads the MA in Graphic Design and Typography. His publications, creative work and research share a common preoccupation with type, letters and the visual form of language. His digital prints have been exhibited in Cambridge University, University of Porto, University of Derby and the Plus Design Expo in Birmingham, and included in group exhibitions in Bristol and Manchester. He is the author of The Complete Typographer (2010, 2004), co-author of Art and Text (2009) and a contributing author to Font: the sourcebook (2008) and the Phaidon Archive of Graphic Design (2012). He has given papers and presentations at numerous international conferences including Typecon 2009, Atlanta; Atypi 2010, Dublin; Typotage 2011, Leipzig, and Typecon 2011, New Orleans. He is the organiser of Beyond the Margins (Cambridge, 2009) an international conference on experimental typographics, and the curator of Types for the New Century, a touring exhibition of contemporary typeface design. His work has been published in journals including Ultrabold, Parenthesis, Multi, Slanted, Zed and the journal of the International Association of Word and Image Studies.
