Description Breite Kanzlei, »eine Schrift der deutschen Romantik« (Albert Kapr, Fraktur: Form und Geschichte der gebrochenen Schriften. Mainz: Verlag Hermann Schmidt, 1933; p. 162), was first issued by Flinsch foundry around 1830. Other German and Swiss foundries (Haas, AG Schriftgießerei Offenbach, Schelter & Giesecke, Bauer) soon came up with their own versions of the same design. The digital version of Breite Kanzlei has been developed by Ralph M. Unger for URW++ in 2007.
