New dates for ATypI Hong Kong: 10–14 October 2012

The Board has moved the conference dates back one week from the dates we first announced, in order to avoid any conflict with the ‘Golden Week’ holiday in China, which is a popular time for family travel. (This also gives us an even better chance of avoiding the tail end of the rainy season in Hong Kong.) Please update your calendars for next year.

“ATypI’s 2012 conference will be held in Hong Kong on 10–14 October 2012," says Keith Tam, head of the local organising team. "This is the first time ATypI is holding its annual conference in Asia, and we are excited to be its host at the School of Design of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. The conference venues will be confirmed shortly.

“At the crossroads of Asia, Hong Kong is a unique blend of cultures. It is an embodiment of thousands of years of Chinese history, as well as a rich colonial past and a mix of many other influences. We look forward to contributions from China and the rest of Asia, examining and reconsidering typography from an Asian and multilingual perspective.

“During the coming months, the PolyU School of Design will work closely with ATypI to bring you an exciting programme and conference experience.”
