ATypI 2016 Warsaw: a Saturday of surprises

The final day of the General Session is here, but don't be sad. Our Nights and Sound Closing Party will keep things festive into the wee hours.

ATypI 2016 Warsaw: a Saturday of surprises

It's been an exciting week of typographic talks and togetherness. Although today marks the last day of the General Session, there's plenty more to come!

Saturday information for attendees

ATypI General Session Day 5 | Saturday, September 17: The ATypI 2016 General Session is in its final day in the new building of the Academy of Fine Arts (ASP). Don't forget—ASP's new building is located at Wybrzeże Kościuszkowskie 37/39 in Warsaw, down by the riverside.

Join us for breakfast at 9:00 am, and a day full of amazing presentations from some of the brightest minds in the type community. This is your last chance to visit the numerous exhibitions located throughout ASP, including the TDC62 and Granshan 2015 winners, and shows organized by ASP faculty and students. Make your final purchases at Antikvariat Morris—they've still got some tantalizing treasures in their conference pop-up shop. If you run out of juice, visit Monotype's charge-and-chill lounge is a great place to plug in and chat with friends in a comfy environment.

We've got some surprises in store for you today, and you can look forward to an enlightening and entertaining by the amazing Brody Neuenschwander. After Brody speaks, go forth and get ready to party!

Nights and Sound—The type world's social event of the season | Saturday, September 17, 8:00 pm–2:00 am: Bracka event center - ul. Bracka 25, 00-035 Warszawa

What better way to end a day of typographic education and fellowship than by partying through the night at one of the coolest spots in Warsaw? After the close of the General Session, ATypI full-conference attendees are invited to Bracka, a stunning event space combining the ornate details of a historic building with the sleek, clean lines of modern architecture. There will be delicious food and yummy cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages, a photo booth for collecting memories, and hot sounds to dance to courtesy of Michał Loba (DJ Sport) and Jerzy Gruchot (Sgt. Hartman).

Nights and Sound is sponsored by our good friends at Adobe Typekit and is organized by the dynamic team behind Warsaw's acclaimed Element Talks. The party goes on until 2 am, giving you plenty of time for fun and frolic. Put on your party clothes and your dancing shoes, and have a great time!

Don't forget: tomorrow brings our fantastic outing to the fabulous Poster Museum. It's scheduled from 2–5:00 pm, and features a tour of the 25th International Poster Biennale along with casual refreshments provided by our partners at the Museum. Check our special events section for more details.

For further information about all ATypI events, check your printed program guide or the online program, and listen to the announcements at the conference.

IMPORTANT POLICY NOTES: Tonight, more than ever, it's important to wear your badge at all times. No one will be admitted to the Bracka event space without an official conference badge, and you won't be served at the bar unless you're wearing it. Let's keep everyone safe and secure and make life easy on our dedicated volunteers. Your badge is also a great conversation starter—make more new friends before you head home.

Other reminders (we hope these go without saying):
Look after your belongings and the property of our hosts, sponsors, exhibitors, vendors, and your fellow attendees. While many of us are friends and colleagues, sometimes unwelcome incidents occur such as theft or vandalism. We do not wish to see anyone suffer a loss, so please do take good care.

Verbal harassment or physical abuse will not be tolerated at any ATypI event. Any attendee or vendor who is abusive in any way to another attendee, volunteer, staff member, organizer, or vendor will have their credentials revoked and will be immediately escorted from the premises.

Transferring and sharing of badges is not permitted. Should it be discovered that an attendee is engaging in either of these practices, their delegate credentials will be revoked immediately and they will be invoiced for the cost of another admission.

Thank you for your attention to these policies as you enjoy your time at ATypI in Warsaw. Personal responsibility, health, and safety are paramount at large events like ours, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
