Recent shifts in type design technology enable further automation and streamlining of the design process. Things previously thought difficult or even impossible, like monolinear (non-outline) workflows or the automation of glyph variations, are easy today. Type designers are now able both to focus exclusively on the design, and to neglect purely technical decisions, which makes type design more accessible and affordable than ever. This presentation aims at showing what is possible today, including live examples.
