Marek Knap

Marek Knap (b. 1968) is award-winning print/digital news and content designer. He is a former art director of the Polish editions of “Marie Claire”, “Maxim” and “Newsweek” devoted to editorial design and typography.

He served as art director of the “Rzeczpospolita” – the winner of Best-Designed Newspaper Award in 2005. His most recent work is “Ruch Muzyczny” – monthly on classical music awarded with Art Front Prize. A significant element of Marek's work is developing a custom font dedicated exclusively to his projects.

Marek was a jury member of Society for News Design competitions in the US and Russia. He earned D.F.A. at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, where he teaches an editorial design program. Currently he holds the position of group art director of Edipresse Polska – Swiss publisher branch in Warsaw.
