Fonts were a terrible way to store typography until OpenType. Then, fonts were just a hard way to store typography, until the web started getting all “typographic.” Now, what's the optimal relationship between the type designer’s ability to build typography into fonts, and the user’s ability to deploy those fonts for their typography?
