Glyphs and non-latin typefaces

When Thu 11 Oct 1515
Where Presentations
Who Georg Seifert

To make non-latin fonts was until now a very cumbersome and technical process. With Glyphs I try to remove the technical hurdle that the designer can concentrate on the design and give him the tools he needs. That means that I have to understand each script. I try to get in contact with native speaking type designers. This has been a very rich collaboration so far. As of this writing, Glyphs supports Arabic (e.g. right to left text display, automatic mark feature generation), Devanagari (e.g. conjuncts, mark positioning) Thai and Hebrew. I plan to increase my effort in the future and add more supported scripts. I will show the current state of Glyphs and give lookout in the future of the development.
