Paris, France • Running for a two-year term

I have been a member for 14 years, a country delegate for France for 10 years. Board member since 2015, in charge of the International committee 2015-2019, now at the marketing committee. Between 2017 and 2020 I have served as a vice-president.

During these times, I have:

  • Maintained a connection between ATypI and the French type community and organized multiple local events endorsed by or on behalf of ATypI (lectures, visits, walks, publications…)
  • Reorganized the work of the country delegates, with a whitepaper on goals, structures and procedures
  • Organized the 2018 Prix Charles Peignot
  • Prepared the Paris 202X conference

During the mandate for which I stand for reelection, I plan on pursuing the work at the marketing committee, with the purpose of enabling the association to gain a wider audience, increasing its voice as a global forum for typography, and helping achieve its missions.

Jean-Baptiste Levée is a typeface designer. He is the founder of the independent foundry Production Type. He is a board member at ATypI, honorary counselor of the Letterform Archive (San Francisco), and consults as a design expert advisor for the French Public Investment Bank (BPI) where he is contributing to the spread of design in innovative businesses. Levée teaches art direction in typeface design at the Amiens school of Arts & Design and at the Institut Français de la Mode.
