  • Welcome to ATypI 2019 Tokyo!

    ATypI 2019 Tokyo will be held at the Miraikan National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation and other locations around the city. The conference opens Wednesday, September 4, with workshops, a reception, and a keynote by John Maeda. The General Session and special events run Thursday through Saturday, September 5–7. The conference closes with a party on Saturday night.

  • The 5th Hiii Typography Design Competition

    The Hiii Typography International Typography Design Competition, an international, professional and pioneering competition at the forefront of typography, is sponsored by Hiiibrand. It has been successfully held for four times from 2013 to 2016. Now Hiii Typography is soliciting excellent typography design works facing world-wide enterprises, design studios, design companies, designers and art design majors. The aim of this competition is to explore outstanding design talents, reward excellent design works, and to advance and further the development of typography design career.   • The Third Type Design Contest of Hanyi Font Star

    The printing type culture in China, especially when concentrate in text type, which is represented by Song, Hei, Fangsongti and Kai, has experienced a long period of developments so far, and has maintained a period of stable state. However, social economy, technology and culture has been changed, and is still under changing in the new century. Correspondingly, the application environment of typeface, together with the mood and context of reading, are undergoing tremendous changes. The usage and diversity of different media, the aspirations of aesthetics, liberty and customization, become the new demands for type design. Its organisers are ParaType, the premier Russian digital type foundry, and Type, the online typographic journal, both located in Moscow.   • Expert class Type design 2014 exhibition

    From 17 May till 31 August 2014 projects of the Expert class Type design (EcTd) students will be exhibited at the Museum Plantin-Moretus in Antwerp. The EcTd course is offered by the Plantin Institute of Typography, which operates under the umbrella of the renown Plantin Society. The exhibition comprises work of students who successfully finished the 2012–2013 course and a preview of the ongoing projects of the current 2013–2014 one. This is the third consecutive EcTd exhibition at the Museum Plantin-Moretus and the first one that is combined with the Expert class Book design course.
