Walter Tiemann Prize: call for entries
The Walter Tiemann Prize was first presented in 1992 and has since been awarded every other year to honour innovative typographic design ideas. It is announced internationally and is aimed at those who consider the book a contemporary work of art.
Vladimir Yefimov: The 40th Day
Vladimir Venediktovich Yefimov, the pre-eminent Russian type designer and typographic expert, died on the 23rd of February, at the age of 62.
VI Latin American Bienal of Typography
La Sexta Bienal de Tipografía Latinoamericana ya está oficialmente en marcha: se ha abierto la convocatoria para enviar los trabajos hasta el 20 de febrero de 2014. La jura se realizará en la ciudad de Valparaíso, Chile, mientras que las exposiciones se iniciarán desde abril del año que viene.

Henry Steiner, best known for his corporate identity and branding work, is a keynote speaker at ATypI's ʻbetween black and whiteʼ conference in taking place Hong Kong from 10 to 14 October.
Expert class Type design 2014 exhibition
From 17 May till 31 August 2014 projects of the Expert class Type design (EcTd) students will be exhibited at the Museum Plantin-Moretus in Antwerp. The EcTd course is offered by the Plantin Institute of Typography, which operates under the umbrella of the renown Plantin Society. The exhibition comprises work of students who successfully finished the 2012–2013 course and a preview of the ongoing projects of the current 2013–2014 one. This is the third consecutive EcTd exhibition at the Museum Plantin-Moretus and the first one that is combined with the Expert class Book design course.
