ATypI General Session Days 3–5 | Thursday–Saturday, September 15–17: The ATypI 2016 General Session, which runs Thursday–Sunday, takes place in the new building of the Academy of Fine Arts (ASP), a delightfully accommodating host and presenting partner. General Session | Thursday, September 15—Saturday, September 17: Onsite check-in and a light breakfast, provided by ATypI, open at 8:30 am Thursday and 9:00 am Friday and Saturday. Lunch is also provided by ATypI, along with morning and afternoon coffee breaks. The General Session is only open to those pre-registered for Days 2–5 and Days 3–5.

The General Session runs on a single track, much to the delight of those who hate missing out on anything. In case you need a break from the goings-on in ASP's auditorium, there are tons of typo-things to do and see.

There are numerous exhibitions located throughout ASP, including the TDC62 and Granshan 2015 winners, and a show from students in the Type Studio at the University of Arts in Poznań. Antikvariat Morris is our bookseller once more, offering tempting tomes to lighten your wallet and weigh down your luggage. Monotype's charge-and-chill lounge features the work of three up-and-coming designers, including Ania Wieluńska, the winner of the 2016 TDC Beatrice Warde Scholarship.

Thursday also brings the long-anticipated annual type crit led by Veronika BurianGerry LeonidasJean-Baptiste Levee, with Indra Kupferschmid moderating. Bring your typeface (and your nerve) and get advice from the experts.

Rain or Shine: We've been blessed with glorious weather so far. If it's sunny and mild, go outside! Take your lunch out to the courtyard or the park across the street and enjoy this beautiful Warsaw fall.

The Film's the Thing | Thursday, September 15ATypI is proud to present the European premiere of Briar Levit's documentary work-in-progress, Graphic Means: A History of Graphic Design Production. Supported by Adobe Typekit, Graphic Means explores graphic design production of the mid-twentieth century through the 1990s—from linecaster to photocomposition, and from paste-up to PDF.

Screening begins at 5:40 pm. Movie snacks and beverages will be served to add to the festivities. After the film, go forth and enjoy the sights, sounds, and culinary attractions to be found in Warsaw.

IMPORTANT POLICY NOTES: We cannot stress enough how critical it is that you wear your badge at all times. The conference is completely sold out, and only registered and badged attendees will be admitted to the conference spaces. There are no exceptions. While many of us know each other, our dedicated, hard-working volunteers are meeting most of you for the first time. Please do not put them in an uncomfortable position. Wear your badge and help things go smoothly.

Other reminders (we hope these go without saying):
Look after your belongings and the property of our hosts, sponsors, exhibitors, vendors, and your fellow attendees. While many of us are friends and colleagues, sometimes unwelcome incidents occur such as theft or vandalism. We do not wish to see anyone suffer a loss, so please do take good care.

Verbal harassment or physical abuse will not be tolerated at any ATypI event. Any attendee or vendor who is abusive in any way to another attendee, volunteer, staff member, organizer, or vendor will have their credentials revoked and will be immediately escorted from the premises.

Transferring and sharing of badges is not permitted. Should it be discovered that an attendee is engaging in either of these practices, their delegate credentials will be revoked immediately and they will be invoiced for the cost of another admission.

Thank you for your attention to these policies as you enjoy your time at ATypI in Warsaw. Personal responsibility, health, and safety are paramount at large events like ours, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation with these policies.
